New build ro-ro ships introduced by Seatruck Ferries, make 22 sailings per week on the line's Heysham-Warren Point service.
Morning departures are offered from both Heysham and the Northern Ireland port, Tuesday to Friday, and seven evening sailings are made in each direction Monday to Sunday.
The brand new sister ships Clipper Point and Clipper Panorama sail from Heysham at 09.00 hrs and 22.00 hrs. The vessels have capacity for 120 trailer units and offer accompanying drivers the luxury of single en-suite cabins.
The only purpose-built freight ferries built for Irish Sea services in the last 20 years, both vessels have a service speed of 22 knots, cutting the crossing time from nine to seven hours.
Seatruck carried nearly 90,000 units on the Heysham-Warren Point route in 2008 and anticipates further growth in unaccompanied traffic as the tough economic climate highlights the significant cost savings to be achieved by this transport solution.
The ferry operator uses Heysham's No 1 Linkspan, the port's second new ship-to-shore bridge, which it shares with the Steam Packet Company's services to the Isle of Man.
